Lee Willows, YGAM CEO is delighted to be joining the Rank Foundation Social Leaders programme.

The Rank Foundation is a London based, charitable grant-giving trust dedicated to continuing the major charitable legacy of (James) Arthur Rank, Baron Rank (1888-1972), flour miller, filmmaker and philanthropist. The Foundation was established as the J Arthur Rank Group Charity in 1953, with its work continuing under the Chairmanship of Arthur’s son-in-law, Robin Cowen, his grandson, Fred Packard, and, currently, another grandson, Joey Newton.

The Rank Foundation

The Rank Foundation operates a model of engaged philanthropy, combining intellectual, social and financial capital in order to maximise impact, whilst leveraging additional funding and support:

  • Financial Capital: flexible funding, long term support
  • Intellectual Capital: sharing good practice, bursaries, education & training
  • Social Capital: networking through RankNet and our Fellowship

David Sanderson MBE DL, CEO Rank Foundation said:
The Rank Foundation support, nurture and encourage the social sector leader. We work with many leaders, some known to the wider world while others are quietly working away in their corner of the U.K. However, what joins all these people together is their commitment to bring about positive social change.

We are delighted to be supporting both Lee Willows and the social purpose of YGAM. Having had first-hand experience of a gambling addiction and given his previous career within the social sector, Lee has some incredible insight to bring to this space. Our Board of Trustees have pledged a three-year funding grant to YGAM as a contribution towards their core costs and we are thrilled to welcome Lee to the Rank Foundation family, as our latest social leader.”

Lee Willows, CEO YGAM said:
It is an honour and a great privilege to be accepted on to the Rank Foundation Social Leaders programme. Over the next three years, I am very much looking forward to further developing my skills and knowledge, and learning from some of the worlds most esteemed social leaders.

It is really important that YGAM is a force for good, and that we continue to listen and learn as we develop our social purpose. We are working, in what is a highly complex environment, with a huge variety of stakeholders to deliver our social purpose. It is for this reason that I am grateful at the prospect of working with the Rank Foundation to ensure we delivering maximum social benefit and ultimately help to minimise gambling-related harm among young people.”
