YGAM seek new members to join Board of Trustees

The last six years have been an incredible journey for everybody at YGAM. We are one of the most authentic, yet fun charities you will ever come across. We roll-up our sleeves, work hard and pack a huge punch above our weight especially around impact, relevance and reach and yet we want to do so much more. The work of YGAM is led by a talented Board of Trustees who give their time voluntarily and a dedicated Senior Leadership Team who support the most amazing staff team of mainly teachers, parents, and individuals with lived experience.

In the autumn of 2020 and as part of our continuous improvement, we undertook our usual annual review of the Board’s effectiveness and refreshed our skills audit of individual members. As a result, and to further diversify both the skills and dynamics of the board we are seeking three new members / trustees.

Firstly, we are seeking a trustee who understands the gaming and eSports sector from the position of your our own lived experience as a gamer, developer, publisher or influencer. Next, we are seeking a trustee who is an expert in digital marketing & brand influencing in order to help us reach a population of millions across the world. Finally, we are looking for a trustee who lives and breathes pre-16 education on a national stage.

We know that diverse groups of people make better decisions therefore we are committed to bringing in talented and skilled individuals from a wide range of different backgrounds and communities. We are also keen that our Board includes members who are under, as well as over, 30 years. Far too many charities are dominated experienced trustees who are often older however we are determined to do things differently. Our unwavering priority to find amazing people who genuinely care about our social purpose and have the passion to drive our organisation forward to help safeguard future generations.

If that is something that might interest you, or you know somebody who may be interested I’d ask you to take a look at our website, download the information pack, our trustee handbook and our commonly asked questions document and consider applying or sharing.
