YGAM publish research Invitation to Tender (ITT) to support new strategy

The team at YGAM are now starting to pull together our third strategy for the charity covering the period 01 January 2022 – 31 December 2025. We believe it is critical to remain evidence-led; involve external stakeholders to bring valuable, relevant, and purposeful insight and foster inclusivity through collective scrutiny, decision making & ownership of the new strategy.

The Board of Trustees have approved how the charity will approach its third strategy and today we are announcing an Invitation to Tender (ITT) to a research, academic or similar organisation to undertake some desk-analysis to answer the following four questions:

•  What does the most up-to date data tell us about participation rates in (i) gaming: (ii) gambling and (iii) social media among the 7 – 24 year old population in the UK?

•  How does UK participation differ from other continents (principally Europe; Asia: North America)?

•  What does the most up-to date data tell us about harm experienced from (i] gaming: (ii) gambling and (iii) social media among the 7 – 24 year old population in the UK?

•  How does UK harm differ from other continents (principally Europe; Asia: North America)?

YGAM are seeking an independent research partner who is not connected with the gaming, gambling or social media sectors. Prospective research partners must have at least five-year’s experience of undertaking such research work, we are seeking to partner with formally constituted organisations only and not individuals.

To be considered for this research project, prospective organisations are asked to complete and return the Invitation to Tender (ITT) along with an example of similar research undertaken.

Proposed timeline

The closing date for ITT: Monday 26 April.

Interviews: Wednesday 28 April.

ITT Awarded: Monday 03 May.

ITT value

£10,000, 50% awarded at start of project (May 2021), the remainder 50% awarded at the end of the project (July 2021).
