The YGAM Team Keep Busy as Part of Responsible Gambling Week

Talking about safer gambling is something that YGAM does year-round and we welcome the notion of dedicating a week to amplifying the message around safer gambling and bringing charities and operators together to raise awareness and encourage conversations with customers, staff and the wider public about gambling responsibly.

During the week 7th – 13th November, the YGAM calendar, like most weeks is busy with awareness events, conferences and overseas training and here is just a taste of some the things we are up to.

YGAM Practitioner Workshops
Open to anyone that works with young or vulnerable people aged 7-25, our accredited workshops cover information on gaming and gambling in the UK and provide the tools needed to protect people from the risks of problem gaming and/or gambling.

Thursday, 7th November
Closed YGAM Workshop at Martine Miller ProGRAM-A.
YGAM’s North-East Education Manager meets with Newcastle University.
YGAM attend the ERG Safer Gambling Summit.

Friday, 8 November
YGAM’s Operations Director meets with View Research to take forward the discussions around engaging BAME youth leaders and a follow-up meeting with Sporting Chance.
YGAM presentation at Consett and Leadgate Youth Centre Talk in Newcastle.

Monday, 11 November
Attending the Citizens Advice Calderdale Breakfast and workshop, Halifax.
Workshop for School Nurses, Kentish Town.
Working with Betknowmore UK and operators delivering training in Gibraltar.

Tuesday, 12 November
YGAM’s Operations Director join Hooyuu Webinar.
Westminster Early Help Presentation.
eSafe Parent Session at Secondary School.
Workshop for Rocket X Staff, Newcastle.

Wednesday, 13 November
Follow up session with Huddersfield Town AFC.
Closed YGAM Workshop, Prince’s Trust, Leeds.
Chair of YGAM’s Young People’s Advisory Group, Will Ridley will be participating in Sky Betting & Gaming’s podcast.
