In October 2017, YGAM was incredibly proud to be awarded the Pearson Assured quality-assurance mark.
Pearson Assured (formerly Edexcel Assured) is an independent benchmark for organisations such as YGAM and assures the quality of our processes underpinning the design, delivery, quality assurance and assessment of our education and training programmes. This service quality assures the YGAM’s processes and not specific qualifications or training programmes offered by YGAM.
To achieve Pearson Assured, educational establishments have to demonstrate at least two-years of consistent delivery, independent evaluation and meet a series of quality measures as defined by Pearson. YGAM are continuing to work with Pearson to become an approved Centre and develop a specific qualification for colleagues around responsible gambling. We are working towards centre and qualification approval in January 2018.
Lee Willows, YGAM CEO says ‘Since founding YGAM, we have been working towards achieving the Pearson Assured quality-mark. It has been an absolute pleasure working with such a talented, yet rigours team from Pearson and I certainly have learnt a lot. Added to our PSHE Association quality kite-mark, ASDAN quality-assurance and the City Law School independent evaluation, in many ways it feels as if YGAM have been under constant scrutiny over the past three years. While this has been tough at times, it has been entirely appropriate, as we want to bring as much insight to the YGAM programme as we can to ensure it is fit for purpose, appropriate and impactful. The Pearson Inspector suggested that YGAM had some exemplar processes, evaluation and resources for such a young charity and I remain incredibly grateful to the team and our volunteer trustees for their consistent support, support and encouragement.’
Jackie Joy, YGAM Head of Quality-Assurance said ‘Having the Pearson Assured status confirms that Pearson, the UK's largest awarding organisation, has acknowledged that YGAMs training programmes, resources and quality processes are of the highest standard. This is a huge achievement and something that is usually only achieved by larger and more mature organisations. Everyone has worked extremely hard to achieve this and I am proud to have been part of the team.’
