Independent Schools Association and YGAM agree to collaborate

The Independent Schools Association (ISA) is the registered charity that represents the Heads of 409 of the UK’s best independent schools. The ISA provides its members with a wide range of membership services, including high quality training courses and conferences, networking opportunities, advice and support, and finally it actively pursues its charitable objectives by supporting a wide range of charities. Founded in 1879, the ISA is one of the oldest of the independent schools’ organisations in the United Kingdom.

YGAM is delighted to have entered into a partnership with ISA, which will give YGAM’s Chief Executive and Director of Education the opportunity to address Head Teachers at the prestigious ISA Annual Conference in York. YGAM and the ISA have also agreed to work together to facilitate an open YGAM training workshop at the ISA offices, with the possibility of regional training across the UK.

Peter Woodroffe, ISA Deputy Chief Executive said ‘YGAM has produced some wonderfully usable resources that can be used across the curriculum, not just in PSHE lessons. I am certain that schools will appreciate the activities and lesson plans that skilfully weave real, interesting issues into the existing, full curriculum.  Personally, I am worried about addiction to gambling and gaming in our young people and it is great to see a charity doing something about it.

Lee Willows, YGAM Chief Executive said, ‘We are delighted to be working with, and learning from, the ISA and its members. We are looking forward to addressing the ISA Annual Conference and meeting with members to understand how we might work together in a meaningful, professional and impactful way. While reducing gambling or gaming-related harm is at the heart of the YGAM curriculum, our curriculum is also about building digital resilience and emotional intelligence in young people to prepare them for a fast evolving digital age.
